Attorney Melinda Young

Meet Melinda Young

Allow us to introduce you to Melinda Young, a passionate advocate joining the esteemed Keenan Law Firm. To truly understand her, you must know why she became a lawyer. Melinda’s journey was not one born out of family tradition or early exposure to the legal field. No, her driving forces were a deep-seated desire to stand up for those who have been hurt and treated unfairly and an unwavering commitment to rectifying injustice for a better future. The moment she realized that being a lawyer meant championing the rights of the vulnerable, she knew she had found her calling.

With licenses in Kansas and across several United States District Courts, including Iowa, Oklahoma, Colorado, Illinois, and Missouri, Melinda is well-equipped to serve her clients’ needs. She is an esteemed member of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association and the Kansas Women Attorneys Association. In her current role, she handles a diverse range of injury cases, from car, truck, and motorcycle accidents to pedestrian and bicycle injuries, falls on others’ property, inadequate security, nursing home cases, and wrongful termination.

Hailing from Hutchinson, Kansas, Melinda embarked on a quest to find her purpose. She explored different paths, living and working in various states, but it was the realization that her home state and its people needed her the most that drew her back to Kansas. Balancing full-time work as a paralegal with her college education, she earned her undergraduate degree from Friends University in Wichita. Melinda’s thirst for knowledge led her to Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, where she pursued her law degree. During her time there, she distinguished herself as an Editor for the Washburn Law Journal, contributing her insights as a published author. Notably, her work “Discrimination for the Sake of the Children” earned her the prestigious John F. Keuther Award for Outstanding Comment. This publication passionately advocated for the parenting rights of same-sex couples, shedding light on an important issue of equality.

Melinda Young brings a fresh perspective and unwavering dedication to the Keenan Law Firm. She stands ready to fight for the rights of those who have been wronged, using her legal acumen and compassionate nature to level the playing field. Whether it’s a car accident, a slip and fall, or a wrongful termination, Melinda will be there, guiding you towards justice and ensuring that your voice is heard. Trust in her ability to make a difference, and let her commitment to fairness and equality pave the way for a brighter future.
